A run every night
SEO for your shop – checked, maintained and looked after
Every night, the software checks the products, categories and content pages of your shop – with checks that I tailor to your range when setting it up. Every morning you receive a report by email: not a wall of raw data, but a list of what actually needs doing.
- New and fixed – each run is compared with the previous one
- Check now: a run at the push of a button, for example after a major change to your range – this one also checks the images
- Errors and notes, counted by group
123At night, when things are quiet
The work happens while your shop is resting. Nobody notices anything during the day, and you start your working day with a ready-made list.
Report by email
You don’t have to log in anywhere to find out whether something is wrong. The report comes to you.
Tailored to your shop
When setting it up, I tailor which checks apply and where the limits lie to your range – what works for furniture need not apply to jewellery. If your range changes, I adjust them.
A shop with 5,000 products has 5,000 product titles, 5,000 meta descriptions and tens of thousands of images. Nobody checks all that by hand.
So it stays unchecked – and Google ranks it accordingly. FHU SEO does the work that otherwise never gets done.
The process
What happens in one night
The checks
What gets checked
Products
Titles, descriptions, meta data, item numbers – for length and completeness.
Categories
Category texts and meta data. Category pages often rank better than individual products – and yet they are usually forgotten.
Images
Alt texts of category images; file names and duplicate image files in the check at the push of a button. Images are a Google channel of their own, and most shops leave it untapped.
Content pages
Heading hierarchy, empty headings, inline styles and clean HTML – the things an editor creates in the WYSIWYG editor without noticing.
Sitemap and links
Every address in the sitemap is called up: reachable, no redirect, exactly one H1, no skipped heading level. A dead link costs you not only ranking but also the customer who clicks it.
Manufacturers
Manufacturer pages and their details, including the manufacturer’s warranty – brand searches make up a considerable share of search volume.
Duplicates
Duplicate EANs, identical product names and descriptions, two products under the same URL. Duplicate content competes with itself on Google.
Availability and stock
Pre-orders without a delivery date or with a date that has already passed; active categories without content, products without an active category, unused filters.
Filter values
In categories with a filter box (Filterbox), every product that is missing a filter value. Anyone filtering by that value won’t see the product.
Your own check rules
Every range has details that are mandatory only there. For these, I set up rules of your own with you, following the pattern “if … then …”.
A value is compared with a fixed value or with another field of the product; each rule can be switched on and off individually. At the push of a button, the software shows which products break a rule.
The same rules also select which products get FAQs, highlights and free gifts – more on that below.
- “Colour is mandatory if the manufacturer is X.”
- “The ISBN is mandatory if the product name contains ‘book’.”
- “The product description names the manufacturer.”
- “The product description contains no ‘iframe’.”
- “The product name is longer than 20 characters.”
Structured data, done right
So that Google recognises your pages for what they are
Checking the structured data
Structured data is what turns an ordinary search hit into an eye-catching result with stars, prices or expandable questions. Among other things, the software checks FAQ pages, articles and blog posts, lists, breadcrumb navigation and your company details.
So the software compares every marked-up question and answer with the text that is actually visible on the page. If the markup differs from the content, it shows up in the report.
What matters is checking the content, not just the format.
FAQ markup whose questions are not actually visible on the page violates the guidelines for structured data – and that can cost your entire domain its rich search results. A mere formatting error, by contrast, costs only a single snippet.
llms.txt for AI search engines
AI search engines increasingly read an llms.txt – an overview of your shop in plain text. If your shop provides one, the software checks that it is reachable, follows the usual format and gives the same contact details as your home page.
Embedded content and consent
Videos and maps from third-party providers may only load once the visitor has given consent. If your shop uses Gambio’s consent tool, the software checks whether embedded content really sits behind the consent prompt – a point that is not about ranking, but about the risk of a cease-and-desist letter (Abmahnung).
Product data that maintains itself
What is missing, the software fills in
Filling additional fields (Zusatzfelder) automatically
Much of what is missing from your product data is already there somewhere – just not in a field that can be evaluated. The software extracts it and writes it back in structured form. These fields are also the basis for the Google feed, for filters in your shop and for search. When setting it up, I choose the fields to suit your range.
Maintained in one place. The software keeps the additional fields it fills in: a change made by hand in the Gambio admin is overwritten by the next run. Corrections therefore belong where the value comes from – in the product’s description or properties.
- Dimensions
- Weight
- Material
- Age group
- Colour
- Pattern
- Manufacturer details
- Contact data
- additional fields
- Google feed
- filters
- search
Optimised titles for Google Shopping
The Google export normally takes the product name from your shop. But that name is written for the product page, where category and filters provide the context. In the feed, that context is missing – and with it exactly the words people search for. So the software builds a separate title for the feed.
What people search for comes first – “Schulranzen” (school bag), “für die Grundschule” (for primary school). The attributes follow as a list at the end, because all that matters there is that the word appears. The title makes nothing up; it only uses what is already in your product data and rearranges it for search. Your product name in the shop stays untouched.
“Alpha Wild Rainbow + Schultüte” (school cone)
Title in the Google feed“Scout Schulranzen Alpha Wild Rainbow für die Grundschule ab 6 Jahren, 2026, Blau, Regenbogen + Schultüte”
(Scout school bag Alpha Wild Rainbow for primary school, ages 6 and up, 2026, blue, rainbow + school cone)
Only words from your own product data – rearranged.
Rule-based category assignment
When setting it up, I store keyword rules: if a certain word appears in the product name or in the search terms, the product belongs in a certain category. The software applies them to your entire inventory and shows in its list when a product no longer fits its category because its data has changed. There, it also suggests suitable categories for products that don’t have one yet.
Automatic cross-selling
Matching accessories and alternative products are determined by rules that I define for your range when setting it up, and written to your shop – for all products, not just the twenty someone managed to do by hand.
Know in the morning what has changed
The results of the check
A list of 600 findings helps nobody if it is the same 600 every day. That is why the software compares each run with the previous one and marks what is new and what has been fixed. You see at a glance whether yesterday’s work had an effect and whether a change in your range has opened up something new.
- New since the last run
- Fixed – yesterday’s work had an effect
- Links to the product in your shop and in the Gambio admin
- Filter by severity, group, category and status; search by message, name or product ID
- History of the last 30 days – you see whether the number of findings is going down
- Export as CSV, for example to hand out tasks
- A check can be started at the push of a button at any time
123A finding hardly anyone spots by hand: in a category with a filter box (Filterbox), some of the products are missing a filter value.
Anyone filtering by that value won’t see those products. The check names every single one of them, and with FHU FILTER the gap is closed for all of them in one go.
Highlights, FAQs and free gifts – once per product group
Selling points, frequently asked questions and free gifts rarely apply to a single product; they apply to a group: all school bags of one brand, all products made of wood. The group is described once with a product rule – following the same pattern as your own check rules – and the content is stored there. When a new product joins the group, it gets the highlights, FAQs and free gift automatically.
- Preview: which products the content will appear on – with a warning about placeholders without a value and duplicate text
- Google feed if you like: price and discount notes that Google does not allow there are detected beforehand
- Approval: only what you approve goes into the shop – every hour, not just with the nightly check
The content is displayed in your shop through the matching Gambio extensions – for free gifts, for example, the Free gift (Gratis-Zugabe) module.
123Finding and cleaning up duplicate images
The same image under five file names
That wastes storage, slows down your shop and dilutes image search.
1. Find duplicates
The software recognises identical image files and displays them in groups – even if the file names are completely different.
2. Choose
From each group, you choose the image to keep. You decide – the software never deletes anything on its own.
3. Clean up
The chosen image is assigned to all affected products. The duplicates are then no longer referenced and can be safely deleted from the server using Gambio’s image processing (Image-Processing).
On request
Product videos from existing data
Video is the content with the greatest reach – and the one shop owners produce least often, because it takes too much effort.
On request, I create short MP4 videos from what is already there – product images, title and product highlights – for YouTube, for example, with the link back to the product in your shop. This is not a ready-made feature of the application but an additional service that I agree with you.
Update-safe
No files of your shop system are modified. A Gambio update cannot overwrite anything – and I make sure everything keeps running afterwards.
Transparent
Every finding names the product and links to it in the shop and in the Gambio admin. You see what needs doing – and where.
From a single source
I set up the software, look after it and adjust it when your range changes. It keeps working every day without you having to think about it.
A worked example
A shop with 3,000 products, checked by hand: title, meta description, alt texts and filter values for each product, plus categories and content pages. At just one minute per product, that is 50 hours for a single pass – and it is out of date as soon as the next delivery has been entered. That is why in most shops it never happens.
FHU SEO does this pass every night. Your work starts with the list of findings, and whatever the software can fill in itself – dimensions, colour, material, manufacturer details, Google titles, cross-selling – it fills in without you having to open the products.
The SEO groundwork gets done – the work there is never time for in day-to-day business.

The nightly check run was recorded in a demo shop with a made-up range. FHU SEO works with any range – car parts, wood stoves or jewellery alike. The videos are in German.
The nightly check
Results marked “new” and “fixed”, a missing filter value, highlights per product group
Video transcript
Every night, FHU SEO checks the entire shop: products, categories, content pages. In the morning, the result is ready – also by email. You see what is new since yesterday and what has been fixed – not the same long list every day. A finding hardly anyone spots by hand: here, 15 products are missing the material. In categories with a filter box, that means anyone filtering by material won’t find them. With FHU FILTER, you close this gap for all products in one go. One click takes you from the finding straight to the product – in the shop or in the shop admin. You maintain selling points once per product group. They appear on all matching product pages and, if you want, in the Google feed. The preview shows in advance which highlights will appear on which products. Google does not allow discount notes: without the checkmark, the highlight appears only in the shop.
Cleaning up duplicate images
Find duplicates, choose the image to keep and assign it to every product
Works well with
FHU FILTER closes the gaps the check finds in your filters; the brand, colour and motif filters flow into the Google title. FHU FINDER searches the additional fields that FHU SEO fills in, and in turn FHU SEO’s category suggestions take the search terms from FHU FINDER into account. FHU EBAY takes over colour, dimensions, weight and manufacturer details as item specifics. In the shop, the Gambio Google Shopping package brings the Google title into your feed.
